Full-Time Seasonal Sales Associate

John Derian Company is seeking to expand its retail team in New York City as we approach the busy holiday season. This full-time, seasonal position is ideal for someone who is flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment. We are looking for someone who works well as part of a team, takes initiative, and is committed to providing excellent customer service.

This position will begin in September and run through the end of January

Please note, this is a full-time position. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Weekend availability is required.

Desired Skills & Experience

Prior experience in retail or customer service is required.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and Shopify is preferred.

Knowledge of or an interest in art, antiques, and interior design is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in execution.

Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful, with strong problem-solving skills.

John Derian Company is currently composed of three shops: three in the East Village and one in Provincetown, MA (open seasonally), as well as an East Village Studio where our product is handmade by artisans. Since 1989, John and his small team of artisans have been creating coveted decoupage trays, paperweights, and decorative home accessories. All of our decoupage pieces are handmade to order in our Lower Manhattan studio using reproduced imagery from John Derian’s vast collection of antique and vintage prints.
