John Derian and Doing Goods have come together on a leaf shaped rug collection. John's vintage-inspired designs were brought to life as rugs full of color, texture, and character. Launching with five exclusive leaf designs, each rug is a little ode to nature, ready to bring personality and a touch of fun into any space.

John frequently explores scale in his designs. For example, he makes objects mimic the shape of a plate, such as an egg print transforming into an oval platter or a flower head filling a round plate.
When the Dutch company Doing Goods, known for its playful animal-design rugs, approached him to collaborate on a rug collection, he recalled a large sample book from a millinery manufacturer from the early 20th century. The book featured leaves used to decorate hats stitched onto the pages, which seemed ideal motifs to enlarge into rugs. Now, small leaf designs from years ago have developed into a vibrant, handmade rugs over a century later.
Doing Goods is a Dutch home décor brand founded in 2010, inspired by a love of treasure hunting and travel. Known for its whimsical rugs, brass hardware, textiles, and decorative accessories, the company designs all of its collections in-house and handcrafts them in its own workshops in India. Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, Doing Goods celebrates the beauty of imperfection while prioritizing fair working conditions, artisanal craftsmanship, and joyful, character-filled design.
