Within John Derian's curated collection of antique art and mirrors is a collection of antique shaving mirrors. These metal-bound grooming mirrors were essential personal tools for men before modern indoor electricity. The beveled, scalloped glass panels were crafted to refract candlelight or morning window illumination directly onto a face. Easily carried between rooms, they were often packed into travelers' trunks, or hung in Civil War military encampments. See the full collection of shaving mirrors here.
